ALOE BLACC NEEDS DOLLAR …SO ANNOUNCES NATIONAL TOUR

July 13, 2011
Aloe Blacc
New UK Tour Just Announced (including HMV Hammersmith Apollo, December 15)
‘I Need A Dollar’ charts at #2, spends 8 weeks in Top 10
“A real discovery” Guardian
“A modern classic” Dazed & Confused
“Could hardly be more contemporary…blissful” Mojo ****
“Strikingly fresh and full of vim” NME, 8/10
“His songcraft has no modern peer” Word
Aloe Blacc has announced details of an extensive UK headline tour, which will take place this winter. Beginning at Birmingham’s HMV Institute on December 3, Aloe’s nationwide trek will additionally call at Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow and Bristol. He will then play a huge show at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on December 15, before concluding at Brighton’s Dome on the following night. Tickets go on sale on Friday (July 15), and are available via his website (www.aloeblacc.co.uk) and www.livenation.co.uk .
News of Aloe’s UK tour follows the huge crossover success of ‘I Need A Dollar’, which has drawn comparisons with the likes of Marvin Gaye and Gil Scott-Heron. Blacc famously wrote ‘I Need A Dollar’ following a redundancy from his then-job, during which he still gigged furiously as an MC, searching for a break. ‘Dollar’ began to pick up extensive attention following its use on the HBO show, ‘How to Make It in America’, before impacting across Europe and the US, almost via word-of-mouth. Its release through Epic in May eventually led to an extraordinary eight weeks in the UK Top 10, where it peaked at number 2. The track is already nearing 400,000 sales in the UK, has picked up over 13 million Youtube hits for the official video, and was recently nominated for a Mojo Award for Best Song. With a Top 10 album, ‘Good Things’, also under his belt, Blacc has now emerged as one of the year’s most in-demand new artists.
Having played sell-out headline dates at London’s Somerset House, Scala and Jazz Café – plus show-stealing sets at Glastonburyand other festivals – tickets for Aloe’s UK tour are sure to sell fast.

FAR EAST MOVEMENT ANNOUNCE THE FREE WIRED WORLD TOUR

March 22, 2011
FAR EAST MOVEMENT
ANNOUNCE
THE FREE WIRED WORLD TOUR
Tuesday 22nd March 2011 – Far East Movement have today announced that they will be hitting the road to play cities across the UK as part of their ‘The Free Wired World Tour’.
Bridging the gap between underground party records, mainstream hip-hop and pop music, Far East Movement take elements of hip-hop, electro, alternative and dance to create an original pop sound and lifestyle they refer to as ‘Free Wired’. With song placements on television, film and a #1 hit song ‘Girls On The dance Floor’, all before they dropped their debut album Free Wired last year via Cherrytree/Interscope Records, the Los Angeles based quartet has created quite a storm world wide.
The official lead single from the album, “Like A G6”, has achieved triple platinum status and exploded onto radio and sales charts across the world, hitting #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Digital Song chart and iTunes on multiple weeks. Speaking on the track that they put together in 2 hours with Los Angeles producers The Cataracs, Kev Nish said
“That one had over a million hits on YouTube before it even had one play on the radio, we threw it online before we went on a 3 month tour and when we got back and checked the views, we knew we had a hit,”
You might already be familiar with Far East Movement’s music unknowingly as they have received placements that are as impressive as artists who have already reached superstar status. “Girls On The Dance Floor” was featured in the film ‘Get Him To The Greek’, ‘MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew’, ‘CSI Miami’, and ‘FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance’, ‘Entourage’, ‘Gossip Girl’ and in the blockbuster film and video game for “Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.”
So far, their tours have taken them to Asia, South America, UK, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Brazil, Netherlands and all over the US, butFar East Movement are anxious to take advantage of all the opportunities their fast-rising career will afford them. Considering their independent, go-getter mindset, talent and willingness to break out of the box, Far East Movement is indeed setting themselves up for the long run.

In other Reel Big Fish news, the band has just announced that longtime member Scott Klopfenstein has decided to retire from the band to spend more time with his family. Here’s the skinny direct from the Fish’s mouth:

Happy New Year!!!

We hope you all have had a relaxing break from school & work and had time to spend with family and friends during the holiday season!

We have some bittersweet news to officially announce that some have already known or figured out regarding Scott Klopfenstein, trumpet player and background vocalist of Reel Big Fish. He and his wife are expecting their first child and he has decided to retire from touring to dedicate his life to raising a family. Out of respect, to allow a solid decision we felt it was best to hold off on sharing the news until Scott was ready to give a full statement.

Please read his announcement on  www.reel-big-fish.com. We all wish him and his family happiness and continued success.

As for the rest of Reel Big Fish, we will continue to tour the world and hope to see you at the shows in 2011 and beyond.
