Imelda May rocks the Guildhall Glos

Arrived at the Guildhall in time to catch the back end of the support act missed thier names but they consisted of 2 guys with double bass and guitar sounded pretty good .

5 photographers in the pit tonight plus Imelda’s  onstage snapper shows how far the lady has progressed from the 1st time I met her working with Mike Sanchez in village halls.

The band took the stage to sold out crowd , and soon had everyone clapping and a’tapping as  old songs peppered by new material  delivered by Imelda and Co drifted round the Hall.

Members of the bands family , and close friends were name-checked along with one lucky fan who Al Gare (Double Bass)  insisted on being photographed with.

Setlist included Love tattoo, Blue calling , Poor Boy, Big Bad Hansom Man,Smotherin Me ,New  Single “Psycho” and the now anthemishnear classic Johnny . encore kicked off with Tainted Love before ripping through My baby left me and the final number Rollin & Tumblin

Yes there was a feedback issue for 1st few songs , yes it was hotter than a picnic in the Sahara but Imelda’s velvet tones and tight 4 piece backing band bought Rock & Roll back to the Heart of Gloucester with a  5 star performance

pics up on archive, videos on Youtube.
