Bachman & Turner
The revered guitarist and vocalist
team up again for killer new album
Randy Bachman and Fred Turner have once more joined forces and they are now to release a new album “Bachman & Turner” on 6 September 2010. The album is to be released through Cadiz Music and will be preceded by a single, “Slave To The Rhythm” to be released on 19 July. Bachman & Turner will make their UK live debut at an intimate show at The Garage in London, on 7 June [tickets from www.seetickets.com or 08700 603 777] and will also perform at the High Voltage show on 25 July [24 hour ticketline 0871 230 5582]. Further UK live dates for October / November are shortly to be announced.
Bachman & Turner were, of course, the creative driving force of Bachman Turner Overdrive, an act that enjoyed massive international success throughout the 1970s. After many years of gentle prodding by music fans and industry aficionados, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, two giants of rock n’ roll, are finally back together after being apart for over 20 years.
The new album features 12 new tracks and is a true tour de force. A delighted Randy Bachman said, “It’s like the lost BTO greatest hits album.” Fred Turner added, “If it was just going out and redoing the old Bachman-Turner Overdrive thing rehashing the old songs just to put some bucks in my pocket I’m not interested,” emphasizes Fred. “If I had a chance to go out and play new things and grow, then I’ll be offering people something.” Bachman Turner Overdrive sold in excess of 30 million albums worldwide and added several true classics to the rock canon. “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” will be familiar to anyone who has ever switched on a radio and “Takin’ Care Of Business” and “Roll On Down The Highway” are tracks that cemented the band’s place in music’s roll of honour.
“Bachman & Turner” is more than just a great rock album, it’s the sound of a pair of musicians who are truly back in phase, back together and back where they belong.
