The UK’s biggest action sports and music festival Relentless NASS is returning to the Bath and West Showground following the phenomenal success of last year’s event.
Relentless NASS, which has grown into one of Europe’s premier action sport events, will this year boast the nation’s first ever World Cup Skateboarding event, attracting the biggest names in the sport from both the UK and rest of the world. Relentless NASS will offer a rare opportunity to see some of the most daring skills and tricks in a world class standard competition – all on a bespoke street course designed especially for the event.
And whilst the World Cup Street Skating Comp takes top billing, the Relentless Goliath Open Skate Competition and UK Open Street Skate Comp are set to attract high class competition.
BMX riders will be competing against each other and showcasing their talents in the Relentless NASS BMX Street Competition as well as on an 8m high and 55m long jump, The Relentless Goliath, Europe’s largest ever ramp. This year’s events also includes the British Dirt Championships.
British BMX rider Mark Webb, the World No 4. is looking forward to taking part in front of his home crowd: “Relentless NASS is the UK’s best action sport and music festival. It is time to show who is number one in the UK and for the Brits to show the internationals riders what we are made of. Bring it on, we are ready to teach you a lesson!”
An exceptional musical line up has been confirmed over the festival with further acts to be announced nearer the time. Headlining on Friday 9th July is the Texan pop-punk band, Bowling For Soup. With their 10th studio album, Sorry for Partyin’, Bowling for Soup have proved that they are a worldwide phenomenon with a string of hit singles to their credit.
After an incredible performance at last year’s NASS, Saturday 10th’s headline act is Chase & Status Live. The dance production duo, performing on the final night of the festival, have achieved three number ones in the UK Dance Chart, with their 2009 collaboration with Brit rapper Kano taking them into the UK Singles Chart. Chase & Status are without doubt the biggest crossover act to come out of the underground since Pendulum.
Andrew Topham, Events Director at Sports Vision, commented: “We are proud to welcome the World Cup of Skateboarding to the UK at the 2010 Relentless NASS. The introduction of a UK leg of the tour demonstrates the growth of action sports in the UK and Relentless NASS will feature the world’s best riders showcasing their incredible skills. Mixed with some of the UK’s coolest bands appearing in the evening, this year’s event promises to be the biggest yet.”
This year’s event will also feature the crazy skills of the mountain bike events, including the Animal Mountain Bike Tour and the King of Dirt events; the side winding wizards competing in the crowd pleasing Slalom Skate event; the UK’s finest free runners in Parkour and a technical display of fancy footwork in the Freestyle Skate.
