The singer george Michael has been jailed for eight weeks by magistrates in north London after admitting crashing his car into a shop while under the influence of cannabis
Michael, whose real name is Georgios Panayiotou, had been found slumped at the wheel of his Range Rover after it ploughed into a branch of Snappy Snaps in Hampstead during the early hours of 4 July.
Officers found two cannabis cigarettes on the 47-year-old star. Tests on a blood sample showed he had chemicals linked to the drug in his system.
Highbury Corner magistrates had heard how Michael had also been convicted of driving while unfit through drugs after he was found collapsed in his Mercedes in October 2006.
Michael has a previous conviction for the same offence
