Gloucester Guildhall Presents
Mercury Prize nominees Wild Beasts bring their experimental indie-pop to Gloucester Guildhall.
Wild Beasts are your new favourite band, according to the critics at least. Hailing from Kendal, the four-piece released their first single Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants on Bad Sneakers Records in November 2006, and subsequently signed to Domino Records. In May 2007, NME listed the band as one of ten bands “tipped for the top” and impressive debut album Limbo, Panto followed a year later.
The band’s second album Two Dancers was released on 3rd August 2009 to critical acclaim. They were immediately hailed as the boldest band in the UK, declared peerless, and praised for having produced an album of such originality that it was impossible to compare to anything else. The Sunday Times named Two Dancers their Album of the Week, describing it as “one of 2009’s indisputable masterpieces” and it also went on to be nominated for the much-coveted 2010 Mercury Prize. The song Underbelly was featured in a series of adverts for Santander, as well as a BMW advert in 2010, which means that if you own a TV and think you haven’t heard any of their songs, you’re probably wrong. Time to hear more we think. This show is going to be a big one.
