Gloucester Guildhall Presents
EMBARGOED UNTIL 9AM ON WEDNESDAY 9TH MARCH
The Subways return to Gloucester Guildhall to road test their third album on a small run of UK dates before hitting the festivals this summer.
From humble beginnings in a DIY home studio in Welwyn Garden City, The Subways got their big break when they sent their demo to Michael Eavis and won the chance to perform on the Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2004. Since then they have become firm festival favourites, not least at Reading and Leeds where they started attracting such big crowds when playing smaller stages that it wasn’t long before they were promoted to main stage regulars.
As well as tirelessly touring the UK and international festival circuit, The Subways found time to release two hit albums, Young For Eternity (2005) and All Or Nothing (2008). They are currently putting finishing touches to their third album with UK producer Stephen Street (Blur, Kaiser Chiefs), which the band say has been written with the festival stage in mind, a deliberate move to play to their strength as an explosive live act.
