Gamma Ray announce new mini-album

Skeletons & Majesties mini-album

“Skeletons & Majesties” is the forthcoming mini-album [Cat No 0206542ERE] from Gamma Ray and is released on 8 April 2011 via Edel’s international rock label, earMUSIC distributed in the UK & Republic of Ireland by Absolute via Universal. Founded and fronted by Kai Hansen after his departure from Helloween, Gamma Ray are undoubtedly one of the most important contemporary names of classic heavy metal and THE most respected and influential German band in the genre.

Sifting through some old material from previous albums, Gamma Ray found a heap of songs that had never been performed live. They have decided to change that and perform some of these “Skeletons” on the impending tour. To whet the appetite of fans going to the shows this mini-album has been conceived as a taster. Additionally, the band have put a twist on two of their biggest, well-known hits and transformed them into new acoustic versions. Later this year, the band will release a full live CD and DVD release, which is to be recorded at the April shows. To really add some fun, on this mini-album the band include a karaoke track for fans to record themselves on to. The fan sending in the best performance [chosen by the Rays] will win a trip to Hamburg to join the Choir session on the next studio album!

“Skeletons & Majesties” is a real collector’s item and includes ”Wannabees” on CD for the very first time, an extended “Brothers” and the karaoke version of “Rebellion In Dreamland”.

01. Hold Your Ground (originally on “Heading For Tomorrow”)
02. Brothers (originally on “Insanity And Genius”)
03. Send Me A Sign (originally on “Powerplant”)
04. Rebellion In Dreamland (originally on “Land Of The Free”)
05. Wannabees (from album “To The Metal!” 7’’ Vinyl never before on CD!)
06. Brothers (extended version)
07. Rebellion In Dreamland (Karaoke version)

Hansen himself adds, “Needless to say, we think the new versions are brilliant, the best ever, hilarious, outstanding, awesome and so on….. no shit, we really do! But judge for yourself…!” • earMUSIC is a project of Edel • Contact:
