Dear Festivalgoer,

As the trucks start to roll into beautiful Great Tew Park to begin building our lovely little festival, our mission to create the UK’s nicest festival once again becomes a reality.

We’ve assembled the very best available for you from a wide musical palate – where else can you hear the legendary folk heroine Buffy Sainte Marie, the unique vocal tones of Cindi Lauper having fun and Mick Hucknall recreating Rod’s rasp on Stay with Me, 75 full minutes of Dire Straits greatest hits performed by The Straits, the popstastic Eliza Doolittle and Olly Murs along with my fav Scottish rockers and the institution that is Quo??

Our younger supporters will be amply entertained by everything from Bhangra Dance & Tatty Bumpkin Yoga to our regular Graffiti Wall Street Show and Funky Festival Crafts and we once again welcome the melee that is Oxfordshire’s Many Morris Dance-off. Our Riverside & Caffe Nero Stages will showcase the local Oxfordshire scene along with tomorrow’s top talent and of course we’ve got the legends that are Stackridge.

When you need a break from the musical banquet, you can sample our super duper new comedy stage which we’re producing with our new best friends at Absolute Radio which will field no less than 36 comedians including Andrew Maxwell, Cardinal Burns, Will Smith and Sean Hughes – how great is that ?

We’ve always prided ourselves on providing great food. While we remain a music festival not a celebrity chef cook in we’re pleased to offer over twenty food outlets for your culinary satisfaction – along with a no-nonsense burger van and sweetie stall if you want to let rip. We also provide for shopaholics – twenty-six festival traders with more interesting jewellery, strange wood-cuts, hippy chic tie-died paraphernalia than you can possibly ever want and our faves – Fairy Love – for all your fairy needs.

We’re supporting a plethora of local schools and charities including our old friends at Oxfordshire sick children’s charity Rosy along with Helen & Douglas House and Banbury Youth Homeless Project. The Charlbury Schools and Great Tew Tea Tents will be competing in the best ‘cuppa & cake’ competition so we need your support simply to satisfy our local bakers if nothing else !

And don’t forget if you simply can’t be bothered to bring your own tent, we’ve still got a few places left in our delightful new boutique camping area – podpads, belle tents, yurts, tangerine fields and gypsy caravans await !

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our little jamboree – all in the place where QI was invented – quite interesting eh?

Don’t miss out on what will be a truly fantastic weekend – book your tickets now!

Best Wishes,

Hugh Phillimore
